“Nothing has meaning until you place meaning upon it” – ACIM⠀
⠀
Let’s dig into this idea…⠀
⠀
This is a phrase I use often when I feel like I am out of alignment and allowing my negative thought patterns to run their loop. You know what I mean, you get triggered (usually by something outside of yourself) and then those old tapes start to play…⠀
⠀
Here’s the deal about anything that happens outside of yourself… it only has meaning if YOU place meaning in it! Often, we use past experiences and self-defeating thoughts to make up this meaning, and then that negative “loop spiral” starts…⠀
⠀
So what can you do instead…⠀
⠀
Become self-aware and recognize when your loop spiral comes up and stop for a minute to check-in. ⠀
⠀
Ask yourself what am I making this mean? ⠀
⠀
How can I see this with fresh eyes and let go of the meaning I am placing on this?⠀
⠀
What is this moment making possible for me?⠀
⠀
Use this practice (notice I said practice, I still use this often) to realign yourself and focus back on feeling good anytime your start to get into your loop spiral. ⠀
⠀
NOTICE, PRACTICE, and repeat!!
Lots of love to you this week,
Carmen
